Description
The Lucy waistcoat was inspired by the afghan/lammy waistcoats which were popular in the 1970s. It’s all crochet: the vest, embroidery, and the fake fur trim! Layer it over a turtleneck shirt or cute blouse and wear it to all your coffee dates and vintage shopping trips. It can also be made for kids!
SIZE: this pattern is made to measure, so it can be made for any body; also for kids! The length can also be customised.
SKILL LEVEL: advanced beginner (you just need to know the basics). This pattern includes written instructions, photos of every step, and diagrams, so it’s very easy to follow!
LANGUAGE: English (I use US terminology)
YARN: you’ll need 3 different types of yarn. For the body, use a weight 4 (medium) wool blend (I used Katia Merino Aran). For the border, use a fake fur yarn; sometimes also called feather yarn (I used Fur Lux by Go Handmade). For the crochet embroidery, use a weight 2 (fine) cotton or silk yarn.
CUSTOMIZATION OPTIONS: you can make your own embroidery design (the pattern includes some examples) and the length is adjustable.
Enjoy crocheting!
