Nanda vest – crochet pattern

Description

The Nanda vest is a soft and comfy piece for the colder months of the year. The 70s inspired flower motif is fun to customize, you can get very creative with your color combinations! This is a no sewing pattern; the flowers are joined as you go, which saves a lot of time and you don’t have to weave in so many loose ends. The pattern includes instructions for how to join the flowers seamlessly and how to create ribbing that looks just like it’s been knitted, so you can learn some new techniques while creating this beautiful crochet piece.

SIZE: made to measure (meaning you can adjust it to your own measurements). It’s very easy to customize the vest to your liking: you can make it fitted or oversized, cropped or long, etcetera.

SKILL LEVEL: advanced beginner to intermediate. This is one of my slightly more challenging patterns, as it requires some new techniques. The pattern includes written instructions, photos of every step, charts, and diagrams, so it’s still very easy to follow!

LANGUAGE: English (I use US terminology).

YARN: I recommend using yarn weight 2 (fine/sport/4ply). I used merino wool, but you can also use a different material, such as cotton. I used Hobbii Friends extra fine merino (1 ball = 50 g/165 m/180 yds). I used 5 balls of yarn and I usually wear size M.

CUSTOMIZATION OPTIONS: it’s very easy to adjust the vest to your liking. You can customize the fit (tight or oversized), length, and the width of the ribbed borders. You can also have some fun with the colors!
