Description
The Olive coat was inspired by two different fashion trends of the 1970s: the ‘duster’ (a very long cardigan) and the penny lane coat (with its recognizable fur trim). Wear it as a cardigan or as a coat, when drinking mulled wine on Christmas markets or hot tea in cozy cafés. You’re guaranteed to get compliments on this eye catching design!
SIZE: made to measure (meaning you can adjust it to your own measurements).
SKILL LEVEL: advanced beginner (you just need to know the basics). The pattern includes written instructions, photos of every step, and graphics, so it’s very easy to follow!
LANGUAGE: English (I use US terminology).
YARN: I recommend using yarn weight 4 (Medium/Aran/Afghan/Worsted). I used Katia Merino Aran (1 ball = 100 g/155 m/170 yds). For the fake fur border, I used Fur Lux by Go Handmade (1 ball = 50 g/27 m/30 yds). In total, I needed 16 balls of Katia Capri and 3 balls of Fur Lux, and I usually wear size M.
CUSTOMIZATION OPTIONS: the fake fur border is optional and you can choose your own length, so if you’re not into fake fur or big statement pieces, you can also use this pattern to make a simple granny square cardigan.
Enjoy crocheting!
