Willow mittens/beanie – crochet pattern

Description

With the Willow mittens and beanie, going outside on a cold day becomes a lot more enjoyable! Use alpaca yarn for incredibly soft, warm, and comfy pieces (other fibres are also possible). The stitch used looks just like knitting; if you like the clean look of knitted pieces,  but can’t knit or prefer to crochet, than this pattern is made for you!

SIZE: made to measure (you can adjust it to your own hand/head measurements).

SKILL LEVEL: advanced beginner (you just need to know the basics). This pattern includes written instructions and photos of every step, so it’s very easy to follow!

LANGUAGE: English (I use US terminology).

YARN: I recommend using an alpaca/wool blend, weight 4 (medium). Since the pattern is made to measure, you could also use a different yarn weight/type. The yarn I used is Malou Light by Lang Yarns (1 ball = 50 g/190 m/208 yds). I used 5 balls in total for 1 pair of mittens and 1 beanie.

CUSTOMIZATION OPTIONS: I changed colors every 2 rows, but you could also make thinner/thicker stripes, or use just one color for more basic pieces.
